Who we are

Breaking the Code of Criminal Procedure ( is a law blog that strives to study India's criminal justice system and various other laws. Although the blog mainly focuses on criminal law, it highlights news and developments in other areas of law, politics and governance. This blog was founded by Ashish Goel (N.U.J.S graduate).

Currently, the blog is maintained by members of NUJS Society for Advancement of Criminal Justice (SACJ). The blog also brings interesting insights from guest contributors who mainly comprise of lawyers, professors and law students in Indian universities.

We welcome short, analytical pieces on legal developments in India such as legislation, case laws etc. Please write to us at with your ideas and we would gladly take it forward.

Work for us

We are seeking law students to work with us part-time and help us run the blog. The work will entail research, writing and travel and will be adequately compensated. Please drop an email at stating why you would like to work with us.
